GMR Industries bags award

HYDERABAD: GMR Industries Ltd has bagged the Best Performer Award in the large and medium scale sector instituted by the All India Manufacturers' Organisation (AIMO - Andhra Pradesh State Board).

Surya Industrial Equipments was adjudged the Best Performer in the SSI sector, while Vasudha Pharma Chem Ltd the Best Performer in Exports.

Announcing the winners of the annual awards, Mr Y.S.R. Venkat Rao, Chairman of AIMO (AP State Board), said the other four winners are: SEC Industries Private Ltd — Best R&D Effort; Ms P. Janaki, proprietor of Brahma Teja Paper Products — Best Woman Entrepreneur; Md Sharifuddin (foreman at Alkali Metals Ltd) — Dr Ramesh Gandhi Best Industrial Worker Award; Mr R. Agarwal, Managing Director of Avon Organics Ltd — Member of the Year Award.

The Andhra Pradesh Governor, Mr Susheel Kumar Shinde, would present the awards to winners on Sunday at Jubilee Hall in Public Gardens.
