Rubber Rubber prices fall as buyers remain inactive Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Oct. 21 THE spot rubber market continued to shed the gains on Friday. The trend was extremely bearish as panic selling by dealers and growers put further pressure on the prices. Buyers were comparatively inactive keeping a low profile in almost all grades including ISNR 20 and latex. Sheet rubber declined to Rs 64.50 and from Rs 65.50. The rubber futures was almost steady in NMCE quoting the November contract at Rs 63.52 (63.54), December Rs 62.70 (62.64), January Rs 63.40 (63.13) and February contract at Rs 63.74 (63.50) per kg for RSS 4. The November contract for the grade was quoted at Rs 64.08 against Rs 63.97 a kg in MCX. RSS 3 slipped to Rs 76.45 a kg from Rs 76.62 at Bangkok spot. The November futures for RSS 3 improved to 193.4 yen against 192.4 yen a kg at TOCOM. Spot rubber rates a kg were: RSS-4: 64.50 (65.50); RSS-5: 62 (62); ungraded: 59.50 (60); ISNR 20: 62.50 (63); and Latex 60%: 42.50 (43).
