Hyderabad , Dec. 1

AGILENT Technologies Inc. is eyeing the Indian drug and pharmaceuticals sector with its compliance products and consulting services to meet stringent global demands.

The company has launched a compliance portfolio to enable pharmaceutical and medical research companies meet global laboratory compliance regulations.

The Worldwide Product Manager - Life Sciences, Agilent Technologies, Dr Ludwig Huber, said that the company's Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis group provides instrumentation, supplies, software and services to life sciences and chemical analysis markets.

During a visit to Hyderabad, Dr Huber told Business Line "During my interaction with some of the leading pharma companies such as Dr Reddy's, Ranbaxy, Sun Pharma among others, it was clear that these companies have the best practices in place and are constantly working towards meeting the rapidly changing requirements to meet compliance-related issues. However, given the large base of the market, more players need to be educated and brought under this fold."

To partner and help companies meet the compliance requirements for the US and European markets, Agilent has launched the Agilent Compliance Enterprise Edition.

This is an advanced paperless qualification service that can be used across a variety of vendors' laboratory systems and instrumentation. This will help Indian pharmaceutical companies comply with a host of regulations, including GMP (good manufacturing practices).
