Bangalore , Jan. 5 CHIPMAKERS Intel and AMD have announced their entry into your living room with Viiv and Live home entertainment PCs. Microsoft set off on an early start in 2005 with its Windows Media Center PC. Intel recently announced the `Viiv' (pronounced `Vyve') range of PCs as part of their re-branding exercise. Now, rival firm Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) will launch its own brand of `AMD Live' PCs at the Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas . Intel's Viiv PCs can be connected to the TV and and let you download latest movies at home using online services. They double as game stations and showcase home photos and videos. AMD is bringing competition in the form of `Live' PCs. It offers 7.1 surround sound. Live! branded desktop or notebook PCs will let you stream music, view and share photos on the TV, record TV shows, videos, music and pictures and also connect to a laptop, MP3, portable media player or PDA.
