Performance Tata Motors vehicle sales up 19.6% in Jan Our Bureau
Mumbai , Feb. 2 TATA Motors on Thursday reported a growth of 19.6 per cent in total vehicles sales (including export) for January to 46,635 units from the corresponding year-ago period of 39,000 units. Domestic sale of commercial vehicles was up 25.3 per cent to 21,301 units (17,003 units), an official statement said. This included M&HCV sales of 13,086 units and LCV sales of 8,215 units. The company's passenger car business registered highest monthly sales of 20,765 units in the domestic market, an increase of 15 per cent. Sales of the Indica grew 18.7 per cent to 12,640 units and Indigo by 15.6 per cent to 3,865 units. The Sumo and the Safari accounted for sales of 4,260 units, a growth of five per cent. Exports for the month were up 15.9 per cent at 3,943 units. Cumulative vehicle sales for the year moved up 10.9 per cent to 3,52,819 units, including a 3.7 per cent growth in passenger cars to 1,48,275 units. Commercial vehicles sales were 1,64,770 units (1,51,864 units). Exports recorded a 71.1-per cent growth to 39,774 units.
