The International Textile Technology and Machinery Expo (ITGME-2006), the maiden textile machinery fair focussing on the entire textile chain, being held here next month, is set to kindle interest in the latest textile machinery offerings from China.
It will house an exclusive `China Pavilion' in which 60 Chinese textile machinery/accessories manufacturing companies will showcase their products for Indian buyers.
Several OEM (original equipment manufacturer) companies from China involved in the manufacture of ring spinning, weaving and processing equipment will display their running machinery at the fair which will also cover the entire machinery range ginning, spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing.
The fair, to be held during March 3-6, has been organised by Hi-tech International Trade Fair India Pvt Ltd (HITF), the Tirupur-based trade fair organising company that has been sponsoring the biennial `Knit-tech' exhibition series since 1990.
"We have chosen to host ITGME 2006 in Coimbatore, the southern spinning and weaving industries hub, which has drawn huge investment plans for the textile sector. With several apparel and hi-tech weaving park projects proposed to be raised in the vicinity over the next two years and the textile industries in the region poised to double its technology upgradation fund scheme (TUFS) investments, we expect the fair to serve the technology platform for them to decide on the choice of new machinery they can buy," said Mr M.A. Royappan, HITF chairman.
ITGME 2006, to be staged at the Codissia Trade Fair complex, will be held on a two lakh-sq.ft floor area and the total area willbe air-conditioned. Over 300 machinery and accessory companies, including 80 from abroad, will participate in the fair, which is also billed to attract over 50,000 business visitors from across the country. Seminars on current textile topics and textile design shows by budding designers will form part of the fair itinerary planned by the organisers.
