Mastek to ramp up Pune operations

Our Bureau

Pune , March 7

Software solutions and services provider Mastek Ltd on Tuesday announced ramping up of operations at its Pune development centre, on the back of increasing business demand.

The company will add at least 450 people, mainly solutions architects, technical architects and business analysts for architecting solutions for its global customers, in addition to domain specialists in the insurance vertical, its Chairman, Mr Ashank Desai, told presspersons.

The recruitments will fulfil the company's need for skilled people, which had recently procured a number of new contracts, he said.

Mastek had recently entered into partnership with Euriware, the 228-million consulting and IT services group, for which it will set up an offshore development centre in India.

"We are looking at Pune and Mumbai as possible locations for this venture and are working out the details with senior management of Euriware,'' Mr Desai said. Euriware employs an estimated 2,000 people, largely in France and is a subsidiary of energy group, Areva.

Meanwhile, the company is betting on the success of Elixir, its sales and administration solution for the insurance sector. Recently, it entered into a licence agreement with the $2-billion Capita Life & Pensions as part of which the latter will use Elixir as its platform of choice in a number of future operations. "The component based solution reduces time to market new products, reduces claims processing time for insurance companies and can be customised to create solutions for customer-specific needs,'' Mr Desai said.
