Chennai , March 9

24/7 Customer has set up a dedicated facility in Chennai for Aviva, a UK-based insurance company, to offer services in life and motor insurance.

The facility, which is the second for Aviva (first in Bangalore), was set up under a build, operate and transfer (BOT) agreement, according to Mr P.V. Kannan, Co-Founder and CEO, 24/7 Customer, which provides outsourced contact centre and business process outsourcing services.

The BOT agreement is for five years and can be extended.

Take over option

Alternatively, Aviva has an option to take over the facility after five years. Aviva is the largest client for 24/7 Customer, contributing nearly 25 per cent of 24/7 Customer's revenue, Mr Kannan told newspersons, without divulging any numbers.

In the 1,800-seat 2-lakh sq ft new facility, 24/7 Customer plans to hire about 2,000 employees. The company has another centre in the city with a 500-seat capacity that services other Global 1000 clients, he said.

Mr S. Nagarajan, Co-Founder and COO, 24/7 Customer, said the company provides complete customer life cycle management services for Aviva.

During the insurance claims, there would be eight to ten people, including doctors, lawyers and officials from insurance companies to deal with. These dealings would be done by 24/7 Customer employees from Chennai for Aviva, he said.
