Sify to host Bangalore-centric video content on Web

Our Bureau

Bangalore , March 19

The tech city has another feather in its cap - a Web site that offers cool content including Bangalore-centric news and live traffic feeds. Go to www.bangalorelive.in to experience it.

The unique concept by Sify Ltd will also showcase original Bangalore-centric video content, created exclusively for an online audience. Net Jockeys will present daily news bulletins on video, covering the latest happenings in the city extensively.

Web-cams stationed at key junctions of the city including Brigade Road and Hosur Road have been configured to upload videos in real-time to the Web site; broadband users could check up on traffic conditions.

Bangalorelive.in also allows users to publish their views, participate in Bangalore-specific discussions and upload their own content in images and videos.

"Considering that people from Bangalore have a really strong emotional bond to what they consider `their' city, a site like Bangalorelive.in is a great way for them to stay in touch with all that's happening in the city," said Mr Nikhil Chinapa, the popular MTV VJ from Bangalore, now based in Mumbai, said in a release issued by the company.

Mr Surya Mantha, Sr Vice-President, Interactive Services, Sify Ltd, said: "The site is the first city-centric broadband Web site designed to be community media channel for airing views.
