Awards for farmers' clubs

The year 2004-05 awards for best performing farmer's clubs instituted by the Regional Office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) were given away at the recent State-level review and development meet held here. Speaking at the function, Mr B.S. Shekhawat, Chief General Manager, Nabard, stressed the need for banks to get better involved in farmers' club activities across the State. A farmers' club is an informal and voluntary organisation of a bank's clients that serves as a via media for connecting with its borrowers. It also acts as a body that enables interaction with larger number of potential clients.
