Scentric development centre in Pune

The Pune development centre of Scentric was launched on Thursday with an investment of $2 million.Headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, Scentric began its operations in the US in June 2004. Talking to presspersons, Mr Sanjay Sehgal, Chief Executive Officer and President, Scentric, said the Pune centre had 27 personnel and the number would touch 30 by year end. About 21 are on the rolls in the US. He said the company was looking at investing about $10 million in the next five years in the Pune centre.

The company's flagship product is Scentric Destiny, a solution to catalogue, classify and control all types of data, regardless of its type and location in the enterprise. The company recently received Series A funding round to the tune of $10.4 million from HIG Ventures, Valhalla Partners, Imlay Investments and ATDC. It is looking at a second round of funding to the tune of $10 million by the end of the year.
