Our Bureau

Chennai, May 15

G V Films Ltd is set to buy Thangam Theatre in Madurai city, the company announced to the stock exchanges today.

In a notification to the BSE, G V Films has said that it intends to put up a "multiplex and other hospitality industry projects" at the Thangam complex.

The move follows the company's decision to get into all three segments of the film industry — production, distribution and exhibition.

G V Films has not mentioned either the consideration for the purchase or the names of the parties to the agreement. It is understood that the company's board will meet shortly to formally approve the move.
