Sierra to expand product development

To hire 450 more as it sees outsourced biz flowing in

Hyderabad , May 30

Sierra Atlantic, a technology solutions provider, has drawn plans to expand its outsourced product development services offering for independent software vendors (ISVs) and plans to induct about 450 people during the year.

The Managing Director of Sierra Atlantic, Mr Sarath Sura, said that software application companies are focussing more on outsourced product development. This will enable Sierra, engaged with ISVs — including Oracle and Siebel — in various product development work, to tap into this growing market.

.

The company's Vice-President, Mr Sanjay Khendry, said that apart from established players, many smaller companies and start-ups, which are funded by venture capital companies, are looking to India-centric operations to bring in efficiencies in their product development cycles. The company expects this space to contribute to about 35 per cent of its overall revenue, and hopes to induct about 450 people, thereby taking its headcount in this domain to 800 by the year-end.

Sierra has over 1,000 people working in India and is in the process of developing a campus in Hyderabad, which is likely to be ready later this year.
