Kolkata , June 14

Xenitis Technolab Pvt Ltd, a Xenitis Group company, which specialises in providing training in hardware networking and IT security, has firmed up plans to ramp up the number of TechnoLab centres across the country from 40 to at least 100 by the end of the current fiscal. In the process, TechnoLab would expand into Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

According to Mr Arun Xavier Biswas, National Manager of Xenitis Technolab Pvt Ltd, TechnoLab centres were present in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala and the North-East.

While some of these were company-owned outlets, others were being operated by franchisees. Of the 60 more TechnoLab centres, four would be set up by the company while the rest would take the franchisee route. The setting up of each of these TechnoLab centres would entail an investment of Rs 50 lakh-60 lakh.

Mr Biswas said that, at the retail level, TechnoLab provides training in hardware networking and IT security to 7,000 students annually. When all 100 centres are operational, TechnoLab would churn out around 20,000 skilled professionals every year.

According to Mr Biswas, besides providing training at the retail level, TechnoLab had a division dedicated to providing training to corporates.

"With regard to corporates, we have no boundaries as far as the curriculum is concerned. It is based on the specific requirement of the clients", he said, adding that TechnoLab had among its corporate clients companies such as Tata Steel, Hindalco, State Bank of India, Indian Oil Corporation, etc. Talks were under way to rope in other corporate clients from the steel, power and coal sectors.
