V. Rishi Kumar

To serve as simulation centre and showcase of products, services

Hyderabad , Aug. 6

Avaya GlobalConnect, an enterprise communication solutions provider, has established a Global Connect Customer Studio in Mumbai to provide real life experience and serve India and the Asia-Pacific region.

The company's Customer Studio is the first such initiative in the region and has been designed to provide an environment that serves as a simulation centre providing personalised insights and as a demonstration of the range of solutions and services Avaya provides in the communications sphere.

The President of Avaya Labs, part of Avaya Inc, Mr Ravi Sethi, told Business Line that "Through the Customer Studio, we expect to provide users deep insights into technology and assist them in decision-making."

Large customer base

Mr Sethi said as a market leader in communication services, Avaya has acquired a large customer base in India as well. These include not just multinationals like Accenture, Dell, IBM, but a long list of Indian clients such as Standard Chartered Bank, Wipro Systems, Reliance Infocomm and Kingfisher.

Avaya has built up a client base in the technology sector, particularly in the call centre and business process outsourcing companies, with a range of customised services.

"As part of Avaya Inc, at the Avaya Labs we undertake a lot of research initiatives for the $5 billion company. These cover areas such as customer care, IP telephony where we have been ranked as the top services provider, with a market share in excess of 20 per cent and voice mail related services," he explained.

R&D centre

The company's R&D centre based in Pune undertakes research in developing next generation solutions that would be rolled out over three to five years.

The Asia-Pacific region and India in particular have emerged as a key market for Avaya. A studio like the one at Mumbai provides an opportunity to experience the power of personalised intelligent communication, he said.
