MR MOHIT ANAND
Hyderabad , Aug. 8 The Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division, part of Microsoft Corporation, will soon offer gaming enthusiasts in India the option of online games that will effectively broaden their range and scope. Xbox 360 is set for launch by Diwali. The Country Manager, Mr Mohit Anand, said that 5-6 out of 10 who buy Xbox 360 globally are becoming online subscribers. Of the 6 million gamers, 3 million are those opting for online payment that provides wider range of games like the one offered by Electronic Arts during the FIFA World Cup Football. In addition, this creates a close user group, where one can choose a player of similar capability. Interestingly, the division is targeting males in the age group of 14 to 35.
Aims to cross 10-m mark
Microsoft has sold 5.5 million Xbox 360 units globally and expects to cross the 10 million mark by November capitalising on the festive season. Microsoft, which does not market its products directly but through partners, has chosen Redington for India sales and plans to set up 15 flagship stores through them across seven major cities in the country. This will be supported by over 1,200 demo points across the country, which will enable gamers to experience the advantages of this console. All the Xbox 360 needs is a DSL broadband connection and Media centre PC, he said.
