Strategy Turner launches Sesame Street desi version Our Bureau
New Delhi , Aug. 9 Turner International India Pvt Ltd has announced the launch of Gali Gali Sim Sim, Indian version of its international series, Sesame Street. The 65-episode series is slated to premiere nationwide on Cartoon Network from August 15. The programme will address issues related to early literacy, creative thinking and reasoning, family and community life, health and hygiene and significance of cultural plurality. The series, which targets children between two and six age group, will feature animated segments, live action films with music, story and art drawn from various elements of Indian culture and regions of the country. Mr Anshuman Misra, Managing Director, Turner International India said, "Since, social and emotional development of children is largely influenced by television, we would like to use this medium to communicate effectively with children." The series will also be aired on Doordarshan for an effective reach in the rural areas.
