More Gulf flights demanded

The Chief Minister, Mr V.S. Achuthanandan, has written to the Prime Minister seeking more flights in the Gulf sector in view of the busy Onam season. The Chief Minister has also asked for the withdrawal of fare increases ranging from Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 effected by the airline companies and restore them to the levels prevailing before August. The Chief Minister has written letters in this regard to the Union Minister for Non-resident Affairs, Mr Vayalar Ravi; and the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr Praful Patel.
