CCS Infotech, an IT provider, today said that it is considering a joint venture with its distributor in South Africa. Speaking to the media, Mr M.A. Hasan Abdul Kader said, "The margins are good there. We are keen on a joint venture of which we would own 49 per cent."

The company has obtained an Rs 4.4-crore order from Neyveli Lignite Corporation to supply PCs, servers, laptops, printers, peripherals and maintain them for five years.

The company is also hoping to raise Rs 20 crore, part of which would come from internal accruals. The amount would go towards expanding capacity at its manufacturing unit in Pondicherry. Currently, the unit has the capacity to ship out about 100 personal computers a day. "We want to increase this to 200 PCs a day."

Part of the amount it raises would be used as margin money to raise further debt, Mr H. Ratna Kumar, Director, CCS Infotech said. "The funds would help us prepare for further orders such as the NLC one. There are several Government tenders to be shortly out in the market."

The funds would also go towards expanding its Singapore operations. Said Mr Kumar, "Currently we use a leased facility for testing. We would like to own those operations."
