Airtel opens its sixth zonal office at Davangere

Bharti Airtel opened its sixth zonal office at Davangere on Friday.

It has also announced the launch of its Fixed Wireless Phone Service in Davengere, Bellary-Hospet, Chitradurga, Raneebennur and Haveri. Fixed Wireless is a home phone that operates on the GSM network, which comes with attractive postpaid and prepaid tariff plans and a bouquet of value-added services.

The Zonal office in Davangere will help provide customer care services to all Airtel users in the districts of Davangere, Chitradurga, Haveri and Bellary.

Airtel currently has its zonal offices in Bangalore, Gulbarga, Hubli, Mysore and Mangalore.

Expanding Coverage

Mr Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, (Mobility) Bharti Airtel Ltd, Karnataka Circle, said the Davangere office would further strengthen Airtel's base in North Karnataka and would help it connect better with its customers.

Airtel covers 45 per cent of the population in the region that includes 100 per cent towns and locations with a population above 20,000; and over 75 per cent towns with population between 5,000 and 20,000.

Airtel also plans to increase its services in towns with a of population less than 5,000.

Mr V. Venkatesh, COO, (Mobility) Bharti Airtel Ltd, Karnataka Circle, said: "Opening an office in Davangere will enable us to significantly expand our coverage of the population."

An innovative home phone that operates on the GSM network, the service would be marketed in attractive postpaid and prepaid tariff plans and a bouquet of value added services including hello tunes, SMS, caller ID and all other services.
