IT&ITES sector mulls future status

Kolkata, Nov 9

About 80 representatives from IT & ITES industries in Kolkata held a meeting earlier this week under the aegis of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss their status in West Bengal, ways to improve it further, and how to attract more investment and orders to the sector.

According to a chamber press release, the idea of forming an association/union in this sector was also discussed. The companies concerned felt they could take care of their employees much better than anyone else and that the need of the hour was to develop existing internal communication channels within the organisations so as to attune themselves to the changing needs of the people. The chamber agreed to help out the smaller companies to carry out employee satisfaction surveys, the release added.
