Kochi , Dec. 18 Kotak Securities has proposed to expand its business in Tier I, II and III cities in Kerala to provide complete bouquet of financial solutions to the customers. Addressing media persons, Mr D. Kannan, Executive Director and COO, Kotak Securities, said that Kerala is one of the prime markets for the company with a market share of 9-9.5 per cent on the total volumes traded on the NSE and the BSE. The company, which started its operations in the State in 2001, has a total customer base of over 8,000 at present and is growing rapidly, he added. Kotak Securites, he said, has opened 3 new full-fledged branches in Kozhikode, Kottayam and Kannur taking the total number of branches to 15. There are also plans to open 9 more new branches in various towns in the next three to nine months.
Business growth
Considering the growth in the business, Mr Kannan said the company is focussing more on NRIs by offering various special schemes in portfolio management services. The NRI investments in fixed deposits would find a way to equity market for better returns, he hoped.
Mr R.Sairam, Vice President and Regional Head, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, said the investors would look at investing in equity markets with flourishing commodity business in the State.
