Kolkata, Jan. 19

The External Affairs Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, will inaugurate the Bharat Kranti Utsav at Rabindra Sarovar stadium on Saturday. The utsav, depicting India's history and patriotic heritage, has been planned to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Plassey (1757) and the 150th anniversary of the first Great War of Independence of 1857. The fair, according to a release, will continue till January 28. While Kolkata's Victoria Memorial Hall will have on display rare artefacts and reference material on the two events, the Defence Ministry will be holding an exhibition on antique armour.
