TN Govt to create talent pool for info tech industry

Chennai Jan. 30 Tamil Nadu, through the proposed IT Academy, is working with Nasscom to design a training curriculum for students in arts and science colleges, and train them to be readily available for IT industry, according to Dr C. Chandramouli, Tamil Nadu Information Technology Secretary.

Speaking at a function organised by Scope International, a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank, UK, Dr Chandramouli said the academy would also look whether the present curriculum is in line with the industry's needs. If not, the curriculum would be changed, especially focusing on soft skills and communications. The IT department is also discussing with the industry and academia to improve communication and language skills of school students.
