Relocation of forensic lab

The Directorate of Forensic Sciences is planning to relocate the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Kolkata to a new campus at New Town Rajarhat. Dr C.N. Bhattacharyya, Director, told newspersons that that the State Government had already allotted land for the new campus. The total project cost is estimated at Rs 25 crore. CFSL Kolkata was set up in the country in 1957 and declared as a centre for excellence in biological sciences. Apart from providing service to Indian investigating agencies, it extends its service to Nepal and Bhutan.
