Silk-reeling cluster launched

About 1,000 people from Sujapur village of Kaliachak-I block of Malda gathered at Saranpara on Thursday for the launching ceremony of a silk-reeling and twisting `cluster'. The occasion was the launching of NABARD's Cluster Development Programme. The cluster was officially launched by Mr Gautam Chakraborty, Sabhadhipati of the Malda Zilla Parishad. This is one of the 55 clusters launched by the bank all over the country. Of these, 30 clusters directly or indirectly involve handloom weaving, said a Press release.
