New Delhi Feb. 16 Having forayed into the retail sector, JK Technosoft, part of the JK Group, will now focus on the education segment by establishing finishing schools in the country.

These schools would aim to bridge the gap between the IT academic framework and industry requirements.

The company plans to partner with Universities and business schools to run part-time, evening courses or full-time duration courses up to nine months. It currently runs a business school in Gurgaon with a capacity of 300 students and is awaiting approval to work with academic institutions in Kota.

"We would like to convert graduates with available skills to employable skills, for which we intend to conduct training programmes in association with other companies so that students can be productive from the first day of the job," said Mr Rajiv Mittal, Vice-President (Software Services and Strategic Initiatives), JK Technosoft.

"We are anticipating approval in the coming months to initiate our programme in Kota, which would integrate education and IT."

Mr Purnendra Kishore, CEO (Retail Business Solutions), said: "Students may have experience in the retail sector but may lack IT knowledge and its management in retail. So, we would be providing holistic training in different verticals that would address industry requirements."

Subsidiary

Its newly launched retail business, JKT Consulting Ltd, which would be a separate subsidiary, would focus on niche software solutions such as workforce management, fraud management, among others. This would constitute a team of 300 consultants in three years.

The company would create a team to develop customised solutions that would integrate small suppliers with some of the large conglomerates.

The company plans to increase headcount to about 1,000 from the current 600 within a year. Currently, 54 per cent of the company's revenues come from the UK and Europe and 20 per cent each from the US and India.

The company expects to double its operations in the US market, said Mr Mittal. It is exploring providing back-end solutions for hospitality and travel and may foray into the sector.
