DuPont sets up refinish training centre

Bangalore Feb. 21 E I DuPont has set up a refinish training centre targeted at car workshop and body shop outlets. E I DuPont India Executive Director for engineering polymers in South Asia, Mr Shankar Krishnan, told newspersons that the 6,000 sq ft training centre will cater to customers in all the Southern States.

DuPont has a similar centre located at its plant in Baroda. "With the increase in passenger car growth, we will look at setting up such centres in each State," Mr Krishnan said. The Bangalore centre costs around $1,50,000.

Mr Krishnan said the size of the refinishing industry in the organised sector is around Rs 200 crore. The product training will be held for three days while the `colour matching training' will last two days, he said. The centre will also train customers on safety norms and shop management techniques to reduce costs.
