New Delhi, April 23

Global Broadcast News (GBN) could soon offer entertainment channels. The group, which owns the English news channel CNN-IBN, and IBN 7 in the Hindi news category, is planning to expand its bouquet of channels in the future, and go beyond its core strength — news, according to an industry source. The company's board recently approved raising of $200 million (Rs 831 crore) by way of international offerings in a fresh issue. GBN is yet to finalise the specific instrument, and the market for raising this amount. Announcements are expected to be made in this respect in about a month's time.
