Satyam, Oracle tie up for BI tool

Our Bureau

Hyderabad June 1 Satyam Computer and Oracle Asia Pacific have announced analliance that will help enterprises with business intelligence (BI) solutions.

iDecisions, Satyam's BI accelerator solution, will become the first major application to be ported to Oracle's Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (BIEE), a BI platform.

This solution will be available for banking, telecommunications and insurance verticals, among others.

Mr Virender Aggarwal, Director of Satyam, in a statement said: "This alliance strengthens Satyam's commitment to accelerate its presence in the Asia Pacific market, particularly in the BI space."

He added: "Traditional BI solutions tend to be complex and expensive, which limits their use. This alliance will make BI more accessible, enabling faster, more effective business decisions."

Mr Ricky Kapur, General Manager (BI), Oracle Asia Pacific, said: "Oracle BIEE's hot-pluggable design allows it to integrate with Oracle and non-Oracle applications and infrastructure software, helping organisations maximise the value of their existing data sources and IT investments."

According to industry estimates, the Asia Pacific BI platform market is growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 15.6 per cent, based on software revenues from 2006 to 2011, and will reach $624 million by 2011.
