Newspapers & Publishing Jagran Prakashan Q4 net up
New Delhi, July 2 Publishers Jagran Prakashan has announced a fourth quarter net profit of Rs 18.09 crore, up 42 per cent, from Rs 12.69 crore reported for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Net sales or income from operations during the quarter ended March 31, were at Rs 163.66 crore, up by more than 27 per cent as against Rs 128.32 crore reported for the corresponding quarter the previous fiscal. Profits for the year were at Rs 76.22 crore, up 140 per cent from Rs 31.70 crore. Sales for the financial year grew by over 24 per cent to Rs 598.18 crore (Rs 480.53 crore). Operating profit margins for the year increased to 23.22 per cent from 15.71 per cent.During the year, the company also launched a bilingual daily newspaper I-Next and City Plus, a weekly infotainment newspaper, both targeted at the youth. It also entered into an alliance with Yahoo India for its portal. — Our Bureau
