Offer stock market advice for a fee

R.Y. Narayanan

Coimbatore, July 5 For those always on the move, keeping themselves up-to-date on the stock price movements, particularly on days when the market sees extreme price swings as it has been in the past few days, could be an uphill task.

But now they could rest easy with the mobile telephone service provider Hutch joining hands with the business portal Moneycontrol.com to provide to its subscribers expert advice on the stock markets — not only domestic but international markets too.

The company has come out with seven different packages at a nominal monthly fee of Rs 25 or Rs 40 depending on the package chosen.

The broker recommendation pack for the retail investors would provide the views of stock market pundits and recommendations on key stocks by a team of experienced brokers. This would attract a monthly charge of Rs 25. There will be an Indian indices pack that would have prominent indices like the Sensex and Nifty and alerts on small and mid cap stocks that are dear to the retail investors.

The global indices pack would have alerts from Dow Jones and NASDAQ and also Asian markets like Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taiwan and alerts on European indices like FTSE. Each of these packages would come at a monthly fee of Rs 25. One could save on cost by opting for both indices under the combo pack of Indian and global indices at a cost of Rs 40 per month.

For the investors who dare to bet on sectoral play, there is a sector indices pack that would give alerts on the performance of different sectors like banking, IT, pharma, FMCG, auto and PSU. There is also a sector alerts pack for specific sector under which the investor could opt for specific sector instead of focusing on the entire market.

Each pack would cost Rs 25 a month. Hutch will also offer a combo pack of sector indices and specific sector pack that would give the investors greater options at a fee of Rs 40 per month.
