Awards & Honours
Hyderabad, Aug. 2 Satyam Computer Services Ltd today announced it has won the Partner of the Year Award for Citizenship at the 2007 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Program Awards. Satyam was chosen from among an international field of top Microsoft Partners delivering market-leading customer solutions built on Microsoft technology. The Vice-President of Enterprise Partner Sales, Microsoft, Mr Peter Boit, in a statement said: "Satyam partnered with the not-for-profit Emergency Management and Research Institute to create an end-to-end system using Microsoft.NET. The company's commitment to its community made it an excellent choice for the first WPC Citizenship Award." EMRI's Call 108 program enables people in Andhra Pradesh to dial 108 for emergency service, similar to 911 in the US. Satyam worked with EMRI and the Government of India to establish the service, which responded to 300,000 emergencies and saved 11,500 lives in its first year. -- Our Bureau
