RCom to outsource IT needs

New Delhi, Aug. 7

Telecom major Reliance Communication is in talks with large multinational companies to outsource its IT requirements. According to industry sources, the company is in talks with at least 3 leading IT companies for the deal estimated to be between $500 million and $1 billion. The move is in line with the industry trends where telecom operators are looking to outsource their non-core areas. Earlier Bharti had entered into an agreement with IBM for managing its IT solutions. Idea Cellular is also planning similar arrangement. —
