Now, get British Airways tickets online

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Sept. 28

Buying a British Airways ticket is now only a mouse click away. The airline has launched the facility to purchase tickets on www.ba.com. Briefing newspersons, the Area Commercial Manager, Ms Amanda Moss, said the launch of the facility would also allow passengers to check in and print their boarding pass online.

“The facility to purchase the ticket online would be available till the time the check-in counter opens at the airport. So, technically speaking, if the flight is light, then a passenger may be able to get a real inexpensive ticket,” Ms Moss said. The airline customer here can pay for the ticket using an American Express/Diner, Mastercard or Visa credit card.

More seats

Meanwhile, the airline is to provide more seats into and out of India from October this year. “On the Delhi route, the two daily flights will be operated with a Boeing 747-400 aircraft that should offer an additional 140 seats in each direction. Similarly, the airline will deploy a Boeing 747 on the Bangalore route from end-October that would provide an additional 70 seats a day,” Ms Moss said.

The airline expects to increase the frequency of flights and also add more destinations when the Airbus A-380 and Boeing 787 aircraft recently ordered by BA join the fleet. “The induction of the new aircraft opens a window of opportunity for us. Now, we can start looking with new gusto as to where these aircraft can be deployed although we will have to compete with other global destinations for these new aircraft to be deployed on the India route,” she added.
