IT Training MindParlour setting up IT finishing schools Our Bureau Kochi, Oct 24 MindParlour LLC, a leading player in the HR services arena in West Asia, is planning to set up a chain of IT finishing schools in metros and Tier-II cities in the country. The first school will come up in January 2008 to provide world-class training to tech students. “We are also looking at setting up similar schools in Coimbatore, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad shortly,” Commander C.K. Sharma, Chief Resource Officer, MindParlour LLC, said at a press meet. The setting up of this facility will give an impetus to the Indian IT industry at a time when companies, industry bodies and the governments express their concern about the raising number of ‘unemployable’ Indian tech graduates. He pointed out that the company is planning to bring out 1,000 highly employable IT graduates from the Kochi centre in the first year. The target is to train 20,000 IT graduates by 2010. Besides, it is also planning to set up a full-fledged independent finishing school campus in Kochi by 2009 at an investment of around Rs 15 crore. MindParlour, which started in Dubai Knowledge Village in 2003, is a renowned brand in behavioural skill training. The company’s HR interventions include training, coaching, mentoring corporates, students, businessmen etc. According to Mr Sharma, the IT finishing school will be the group’s first venture in India, which is targeted at bridging the gap between the industry and the academic knowledge of a new IT recruit.
