Hyundai-i10 bags award

New Delhi, Jan 10

The seventh edition of the CNBC-TV18 Autocar Auto Awards were announced on Thursday, with Hyundai – i10 driving away with the Car of the Year Award 2008 while Bajaj – XCD DTS-Si zoomed away with the Bike of the Year Award. The award ranked this year’s finalists on fitness for purpose, relevance to the Indian market, value for money, design and styling, interiors, engine, gearbox, performance, ride, handling, driving pleasure and ownership experience. Othe r winners included Maruti SX4 (best value for money); Maruti Suzuki (manufacturer of the year); BMW-5 series (best design and styling); Chevrolet Optra Magnum diesel (variant of the year); Hyundai – i10 (best compact car) ; Honda Civic (best executive car). The man of the year award was bagged by Mr Jagdish Khattar, while the Storyboard - auto commercial of the year went to Lowe Lintas for Bajaj – Pulsar 200 DTS-I and O&M for Bajaj – XCD DTS-Si.
