Telecommunications Marketing - Trends 8.1 m new phone subscribers in Dec New Delhi, Jan. 23 A total of 8.11 million telephone connections have been added during December 2007 according to numbers released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. With this, the total number of telephone connections in the country reached 272.88 million at the end of 2007 as compared to 264.77 million in November 2007. The overall tele-density is now 23.89 per cent. In the wireless segment, there is an addition of 8.17 million subscribers in the month of December as against 8. 32 million subscribers added in the month of November 2007. The total wireless subscribers (GSM, CDMA & WLL (F)) base stood at 233.63 million. The wire line segment continued its slump as the subscriber base decreased to 39.25 million in December (39.31 million).
