Foreign Institutional Investors Variety - Entertainment & Leisure
Our Bureau Mumbai, Feb. 7 Reliance Entertainment, 100 per cent owned by Mr Anil Ambani, has placed 3 per cent of its equity with high profile global investor George Soros for $100 million (Rs 400 crore), said sources close to the company. umbrella companyThe company’s spokesperson confirmed the development. Reliance Entertainment is the umbrella company for all the entertainment units of the Reliance ADA group. The group has three main lines of entertainment business — internet and new media, film entertainment, and television broadcasting. The group has gaming portal Zapak, social network service Big Adda, movie rental service Big Flicks, and a mobile entertainment business Jump Mobile. The second line is film production and distribution, for which it has signed up several leading directors for six films. Reliance Entertainment recently acquired a controlling stake in a production studio — ND Studio. More venturesOther ventures in music, home video and animation have been initiated.
