People Rajeev Chandrasekhar sworn in as FICCI chief Our Bureau New Delhi, Feb. 16 The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) ushered in a trio of top businessmen to head the apex industry chamber at the concluding session of its 80th Annual General Meeting here on Saturday. Mr Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Member of Parliament and Chairman and CEO of Jupiter Capital, took over as President, while Mr Harsh Pati Singhania, Managing Director, J.K. Paper Ltd, was elected Senior President, and Mr Rajan Bharti Mittal, Managing Director, Bharti Enterprises, as Vice-President. Mr Chandrasekhar, whose company is currently focussing on infrastructure, media and technology ventures of the future, founded BPL Mobile in 1994, and is considered one of the earliest investors in the domestic telecom sector. In the Rajya Sabha, he represents Bangalore. Mr Singhania, who is a fourth-generation industrialist belonging to the JK Group, is FICCI’s senior committee member and heads the chamber’s manufacturing committee. Mr Mittal, whose group company Bharti Airtel Ltd services 60 million mobile customers, is the chairman of the Retail Committee. More Stories on : People | Industry Associations
