Hyderabad, Feb. 20

A Hyderabad-based start up promoted by a Silicon Valley entrepreneur today announced the launch of Suswagat.com, a social platform that enables people to connect, share and network and post events.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Founder, Chief Executive Officer of Suswagat, Mr Hari Venkata, said that the portal based on Web 2.0 or that thrives on information gathered collaboratively, enables event managers or anyone promoting an e vent to list their events, share event photos and videos. Apart from event listing, the portal allows users to upload photos and videos associated with various categories of events such as product and brand launches, movies, food festivals and talent shows. The company plans to shortly add access of this information for mobile phone uses. The portal revenue includes online advertisements, video market guides and content distribution both online and for mobile subscribers. The company has also added what it refers to iCast that enables ordinary user to capture important events and post them on the portal. The company has a content moderation feature that filters out objectionable content, he said. —
