Kingfisher is IPL’s umpire sponsor

Mumbai, March 20

Kingfisher Airlines became the official umpire partner of the DLF Indian Premier League for five years at Rs 106 crore. Kingfisher will sponsor all third umpire decisions during the 59 matches in the IPL. As per the agreement, Kingfisher will receive branding on the umpires’ uniform including their shirts and hats during the league, along with several other activation opportunities around the property. Mr Vijay Mallya, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Kingfisher Airlines, said: “Our five-year association with the DLF IPL is further testimony to our commitment to building the Kingfisher Airlines brand through sports. We will present the DLF IPL umpires in a completely new and modern style while retaining their critical role in the sport.”
