MTNL launches IPTV services

Mumbai, March 20

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) on Thursday launched Aksh-Tel, an internet protocol television (IPTV) and V Spyk, (a video phone calling service) in partnership with Aksh Optifibre Ltd. For Rs 499 per month, subscribers can avail of services such as IPTV, VOIP (with 50 free calls) and 50 MB broadband services, said Mr J Gopal, Executive Director of MTNL. V Spyk launched by Aksh is a real time videophone calling service between two users, enabling real time communicati on at a more personalised level. Both the services are easily available to all MTNL broadband subscribers. “With the advantages offered by Aksh- Tel and V Spyk, the services can potentially reach over 4 million consumers in Delhi and Mumbai,” said Dr K.S. Choudhari, MD, Aksh Optifibre. —
