Edelweiss may sign long-term sponsorship contract with ICL

Jayanta Mallick

Kolkata, April 17 Edelweiss Capital is planning a long-term contract with India Cricket League (ICL) for the title sponsorship of the 20s Challenge tournament. Mr Rashesh Shah, Chairman & CEO of Edelweiss Captial, told Business Line that a fresh agreement was likely to be signed within a fortnight. “We are currently analysing the TRP data and viewers response before finalising the contract. Edelweiss is quite happy with the first experience of the brand mileage obtained from the title sponsorship,” Mr Shah said.

Edelweiss was the first title sponsor of the ICL tournament, which finished early this month. Mr Shah, however, declined to mention the sponsorship rates and the specific duration of the contract. If the contract is through, then the name of the league would continue to remain Edelweiss 20s Challenge. Mr Shah said the earlier agreement was only for the gone-by tournament. There were a few more associate sponsors and team sponsors for the last ICL event.
