Strategy Fox sets up unit to focus on local language films Our Bureau New Delhi, May 13 Fox Filmed Entertainment International is launching Fox International Productions to produce and acquire local language films for key global territories, including India, where the business will be headed by Mr Vijay Singh, President (Strategy and Corporate Development), Star India. In India, the company is expected to produce television and film content, both for the local market and eventually for international markets too. The Los Angeles-based new entity, to be headed by Mr Sanford Panitch internationally, will produce, co-finance, acquire and distribute local language films in key markets. He will report to Fox Filmed Entertainment Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers, Mr Jim Gianopulos and Mr Tom Rothman, who made the announcement on Tuesday. “We have the infrastructure provided by the world’s most global media company along with Fox’s unmatched marketing and distribution operations, and in Mr Sanford, we have a seasoned, successful executive with whom to entrust this important enterprise,” said Mr Gianopulos. “All of these factors, as well as our existing relationships and collective experience around the world, position us for great success,” he added.
