Discovery Network appointment

New Delhi, May 21

Mr Rahul Johri, Discovery's Senior Vice-President, Advertising Sales, has been appointed as the network's new Country Manager. Mr Deepak Shourie, Executive Vice-President and Managing Director, Discovery Networks India, will move into a new role as Advisor, Corporate Affairs, said the company in a release.

This was in line with the integration of the network's India and Asia businesses, said Discovery. Mr Johri, who has 15 years of experience in the media and joined Discovery from IMG in 2001, will report to Mr Tom Keaveny, Executive Vice- President and Managing Director, Discovery Networks, Asia.

"The integration of our India and Asia operations will position Discovery more competitively in the region by allowing us to collaborate across both businesses and more effectively share content and resources in order to drive continued growth," said Mr Greg Ricca, President and CEO, Discovery Networks International. - Our Bureau
