Printing States - West Bengal ‘Digital printing set for rapid growth’ Our Bureau Kolkata, May 26 Digital printing, which currently accounts for 15 per cent of the total global print market, is set to witness a rapid growth in the next three-to-four years, said Mr Jeffrey Protheroe, Regional Business Director, APR Graphic Communications Group. “India is one of the most critical regions of growth as far as digital printing is concerned, apart from China and Japan, and we have extensive plans for the country,” Mr Protheroe told reporters at the installation of the first Kodak Nexpress 2100 Plus in the eastern region. Currently, Kodak has a presence in the spheres of commercial printing, newspapers, packaging, data centre and internet film. “Commercial printing accounts for 75 per cent of the business in India, but this is set to change in the next two-to-three years when other areas, particularly newspapers, will catch up,” he said. Anderson Printing House has installed Kodak Nexpress 2100 Plus to exploit new digital print opportunities. The technology enables different short-run applications from colour brochures, inserts, flyers to direct mail on a wide variety of substrates. “With quality and quick turnaround times, the Nexpress 2100 Plus will help us attract new customers who require short run color jobs,” Mr N K Kajaria, Managing Director, Anderson Printing House, said. Kodak already has four digital colour presses in India, in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. More Stories on : Printing | West Bengal
