New Delhi, June 27 India and Pakistan propose to adopt a common position on the pending trilateral issues between the three countries – Iran, Pakistan, and India – on the about $ 7.4-billion gas pipeline project. After resolving the bilateral commercial concerns with Pakistan, India is looking at resolving some issues with Iran, including the shifting of delivery point of the gas and Tehran’s demand for price revision. The visiting Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, said “I am happy to report that as far as Pakistan and India are concerned, we have resolved all bilateral issues. There is no issue whatsoever that needs to be addressed now.” Mr Qureshi was speaking to newspersons after a brief meeting with the Petroleum Minister, Mr Murli Deora, here. He said that there were trilateral issues and the officials of India and Pakistan should meet to adopt a common position. Both the nations had resolved the pending issues including transportation charges and transit fee. Senior officials are now expected to meet to evolve a strategy to deal with Iran’s proposal on a price revision clause. Both have been opposing the new clause and plan to make a joint case at the trilateral meeting likely in Tehran next month.
