New Products & Services Tata Sky teams up with BharatMatrimony Our Bureau Chennai, July 23 Tata Sky Ltd, a joint venture between the Tata Group and Star, has joined hand with BharathMatrimony.com to offer matrimony services on its interactive platform. Named Active Matrimony, the channel would offer 1,000 matrimonial listings classified under languages and communities. These entries will be updated on a weekly basis. This facility would enable all Tata Sky subscribers to access the listings on their TV round the clock. They can also get the contact details of the preferred listings by sending an SMS request to Tata Sky. Though access to this service is offered at free of cost, the subscriber has to pay Rs 10 for the SMS request. Announcing the launch of this service, Mr Vikram Mehra, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Sky, said this tie-up is expected to facilitate its subscriber base further. It currently has 2.3 million subscribers across the country. According to Mr Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder and CEO, BharatMatrimony.com, the listings on Active Matrimony are sourced on an opt-in basis from premium members of BharatMatrimony.com. “This tie-up will further help us consolidate our position in the matrimony industry by adding direct access to over two million homes,” he said.
