Advertising Ranjan Kapur to get first AAAI lifetime achievement award
Mr Ranjan Kapur Our Bureau Chennai, July 29 The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) has announced its newly instituted AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award as the highest honour to be given to an individual in India for his/her outstanding contribution to the advertising industry. “With Indian advertising being recognised the world over today, we at the AAAI have instituted this award to recognise the contributions of the people who have taken the advertising industry to where it stands today,” a press release quoted Mr Madhukar Kamath, President, AAAI, as saying. The award will be presented annually and will recognise the recipient individual’s contribution to leadership of the industry as an individual and their contribution towards advancement and professionalism in the industry. The recipient of the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award this year is Mr Ranjan Kapur, Country Manager-India, WPP. The award will be presented to him on August 14 in Mumbai. Mr Kapur, who has over four decades of experience in the industry and was Chairman, Ogilvy & Mather, India for 10 years, is credited with taking the agency to its leadership position, the press release said.
